Firm History
Texas family lawyer Cletus Schenk established the firm as one of the first boutique law practices that exclusively handled divorce and child custody actions. The firm grew steadily as a pioneering force of strong and reputable attorneys.
Ken Fuller joined the firm soon after it was started and was in the first class of attorneys to be Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In 1990, Ike Vanden Eykel brought his expertise to the firm as part of a merger with the family law section of another large, full-service firm. Then in September of 1998, the firm added McKinney attorney Rick Robertson to create Koons, Fuller, Vanden Eykel & Robertson.
At the same time as Robertson joined the firm, a physical expansion took place to include a major new office in Plano, in addition to the original location in the Uptown section of Dallas. In November 2007, the firm opened a third office on the Southlake Town Square, and the firm merged with the Denton offices of Gregory & Conner in 2008 to make the firm’s fourth office. In January of 2013 KoonsFuller, P.C. expanded outside the DFW Metroplex to Houston to create its fifth office. The Houston office is managed by attorney Sherri Evans, an experienced Houston family law attorney known for her complex property cases and strong litigation skills.
